Beautiful, candle and Ann,
My favorite thread. now i will post

love the love for oneself, the love for universe and all manifested,
the love of the ocean or the source (tao, god, divine, the void or what ever)

contemplate on this. love is one, and we seems to make division

love love and love again

( i got this on an email)

This is one of the kindest things. I have no way to know who sent it, but there is a beautiful soul working in the Canadian  Postal Service.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey died last month.

The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying that when Abbey got to heaven, God wouldn't recognize her, and could we send him a letter? I told her that I thought we could, so she dictated these words:

 Dear God:

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much.

I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her.

You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven...

Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps on the front of the envelope to get the letter all the way to Heaven. That afternoon, I drove Meredith to the Post office and watched her drop it in a letter box.. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet.

I told her that I was certain He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed,

'To Meredith , ' in an unfamiliar hand.  Meredith opened it.

Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.

On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

 Dear Meredith:

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.  Having the picture was a big help.  I recognized Abbey right away...

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.

Since we don't need  our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by...

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me.

What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I'm easy to find. I am wherever there is love.

Love,
God

Betcha might have a lump in your throat or a tear in your eye after reading this.
It's nice to know that there are still a few nice people in this crazy world we live in.

It reminds me of the time when I was a little boy in Christmas time and my dad called "santa clause" We all spoke to him telling him what presents we wanted and we all got what we wanted because he said we can have them.

Later in life my Father told us of the day the exchange guy caught on and played santa clause for him. It turns out he didn't have the money at the time but he bought us exactly what we asked for.

*sings* Love is all around...
Excellent post, Candlelight. There are so many things I love, and it would take me an eternity to list them, but I'd have to say my partner, dog, family, friends, and lazy Sundays would have to be at the top :)

Love to the world,

Traveller.

Do not stand at my grave and weep..
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry..
I am not there. I did not die.

xXx

Hello

Thought I would share a poem here.

Castle

In a castle on a hill
A past of war and haunt
An ancient secret love
Kept hidden by the hands of the stable boy
A Knight and a Witch
Secrets and promises
Deep in the war torn walls
Some codes forgotten by time
Some codes forever engraved in the minds of the new
Stories and legends
Kept in the walls of that castle on a hill

Beautiful poem, thank you for sharing Lynn, very haunting and sad.

Candles, I also got the email you pasted above, and loved the last poem you put in.

Eugene,  that Exchange man sounds like he was a very kind, giving person, lovely story.

Hello

I was told today I came up in an "unconditional LOVe" class today someone I know was taking.  Then this one thought twice on sharing me with them. I was honored acutally to be thought one.  I do not walk in the emotions of LOVe but understand what is means.  I hold no conditons to me mate of me kids or the one's that be around me.  I walk with them in trust and understandings.  Too I be human and open to hurt and being lead down the garden path at times.

Life lessons on what is friendship and so called "LOVe" for ye and what be "used" is a fine line.   tickedoff

Song on "Love on Your Side" how fitting that be on.

Does anyone really ever have LOVe on their side ?   Like all things LOVe can turn its back on ye.   lp lp

Been busy picking up the pieces of broken LOVe so I guess I be a bit sour on the whole notion.  Not with me but with one I know.  Lead down that path to find a dead end road.

Lynn

Interesting observation there Lynn. I have seen love cause a great deal of heartache too. Sometimes people are led into promises of "unconditional love" but actually being used or manipulated.

I think alot of people have a great desire for love and I have seen how easy it is to victimize people using love as a 'Lure'.

For me personally, I have great love in my life, and what is called the 'Heart Chakra' feels fantistic emotionally.

There is a great "Consciousness" or "Pure Energy" but it is called 'Unconditional Love'. I've seen people become mislead, relaint, given false hope and hurt.
