for cleaning the body and the home...
When it comes to products there is so much choice out there that it can be really overwhelming. Many things that claim to be natural are actually full of harsh chemicals. What we apply to our skin is a big one! I use as little as possible.
The health food store is a great place to start...
My favourite company is 'Green People'. I use their shampoo and conditioner. They aren't cheap, although everyone who uses their products will tell you that a little goes a long way. They are definitely worth it.
http://www.greenpeople.co.uk/I use Dr Bronners liquid soap. A 400ml bottle will last me for nearly a year! A few drops will cleanse my whole body. It has a multitude of other uses too.
http://www.drbronner.com/I haven't use them although I noticed that the Uretkram range of body products has minimal ingredients (big thumbs up) and is relatively inexpensive.
http://www.urtekram.dk/Look out for products that are free from:
parabens,
SLS (Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulphate)
synthetic fragrances
chemical antioxidants,
Petrochemicals
propylene glycol,
harsh foaming agents
colourants
It’s also worth looking at products that you can fill up in store, reusing your bottles.
Toothpaste - Not always easy to find a good toothpaste free of all the nasties that tastes good too. So experiment. Flouride free is a great place to start.
You could try skin brushing with a purpose made skin brush. It exfoliates dead skin and stimulates circulation. An invigorating way to start the day and discharge any stagnant energy.
I haven’t used deoderant for as many years as I can remember. I have heard that there are some great alternatives in the health food store though. It would be great to hear if anyone else has any advice or thoughts?
