Hmmm.

Lets see:
dont walk under ladders. (makes sense)
Breaking a mirror is seven years bad luck. (why seven?)
Spilled salt should be disposed of over your left shoulder.
A praying mantis in your house means good luck.
A lizzard or any little reptile means change is afoot.
Honey bees bring money and good vibes.

Do not lick a knive blade clean. Also a bad omen but I forgot. Maybe it gives you bad memory because I don't give a hoot about it.(also stops you from cutting your tounge by mistake.)
Dont drink anything from a cup or mug when there is a spoon in it.(Also prevents you sticking it in your eye by mistake. It happened to me.)
When you lie on your back and eat you will grow horns.   Evil  (also prevents choking.)
Masturbation will grow hair in your palms. (also prevents you from loving yourself too much Grin) (I wonder if they are gonna grow through my blisters? I was alone last night.  2funny )

I think these last four were just made up to get children to behave.
