I am reading a book of Oshos words on maturity.

He speaks of the seven year cycles we have in life. Osho went to universities and studied Psychology and I feel he is bringing a bit of Jung into this teaching.

The first seven years everything revolves around you. Egoistic, self centered.

The next seven to fourteen years. You become eccentric. You become the great questioner. Everything needs to be dissected and turned over to see what lies underneath.

Fourteen to 21 Sexual maturity happens and we are forever interested in the other gender.

21 to 28 Still adventurous e tackle life to see what we can make for ourselves with a lot of ambition.

28 To 35 we calm down a bit. Our adventure slows down and we have less outrageous dreams, we just want to settle with "enough" we drop the Hippiness. The rebel, the world challenger for somethign more relaxing.

35 to 42 This is the time when man becomes orthodox again. His energies are changing from growing to declining He is at an apex. Becomes subdued and now is only interested in fitting in with the establishment. All hippiness is gone now and he becomes a conformist. At this age one begins to seek religion or spirituality.

By forty second all sorts of physical sypmtoms begin to show. From 42 all kinds of age related problems begin to manifest.

I read this and I feel that it is not so with me. Osho says "Unless something has happened" I think in my case something has. For one I was interested in spirituality for as long as I can remember, it did not start recently. Also  I am still a rebel, I never settled into orthodoxed living because it is clear to me that orthodoxed living is a kind of a hipnotized insanity. Nobody with clear thinking would ever live that way.
