True Gosh we need spaces like these to remind one another to think with a spiritual mind instead of falling into old samskaras or ruts of thought. My number in the competition is http://www.NextTopAuthor.com/?aid=2087 By the way. Thank you Ann

Well what is spirituality? - for me that is living with and loving the whole of me - because only by doing that, can I love the whole of others.
Competing is very human, we all love that and we all do that in one way or another. Spirituality for me is accepting ALL including my ego - so for me spirituality does include competition, how can it not?

Also true. Man I love these conversations. Carolyne Myss I think......... don't hit me if i'm wrong. Anyway she said that there came a recent shift in energies and we now have to include the ego and its activities in everything we do. So now its not about dumping ego but rather taking ego with you to enlightenment. I see the competition as a frendly game and its FUN. And to me that is what life is all about. We play and have FUN!! Its part of being spiritual. Ok there is a prize but that's part of the fun. I believe a lot of Authors will be noticed and picked off by publishers anyway. I think alot of people will gain by this.

I suppose you can say we are using each other.
I mean I am using the competition as a means to a journey and the publishers put their bait out as a means to what they want. Its win-win in the end.
I think its a fantastic idea because a lot of spiritual authors are now writing and even if they fail the competition they can still publish somewhere else. Can you imagine what a wonderful change it will be when all those books hit the market? There is about more than four thousand on last count.
That should raise the vibration of the planet on a large scale.

Dorthe You have a point there. Sometimes I think that the only problem here is the meanings we attach to things. Once you give it meaning it has to fit in somewhere or not. People placed a lot of meanings on money. But when you look at it as energy it makes more spiritual sense.

Ha well you know the funny thing about the ten commandments. Where are they? If it was set in stone it should be lying around somewhere. Personally I play the game by its rules. Like everything in life if I decide to do something then I do it. When I accepted the competition as a means to get international publication for my book I accepted everything that goes along with it, and now I have to play by those rules. But the other side of the argument also holds. Competition affirms a kind of scarcity. Thate can be only so much people who make it. But the publisher also wants to give new writers a taste of what to do to publish a book and advertising yourself I suppose is part of it. Like I said I chose that river and now I go with the flow. But some people said they will not support me because competition is unspiritual. I can understand all points of view here.

Money is a neutral energy, it is they way you "look" at money that will change the energy to be either "negative" og "positive".
Your investors might look at it purely from an egoistic point of view - wanting to get money no matter the consequense. But what is the authors intention behind a book and promoting it - it is from the heart or from the ego? - if it is from the heart - then I see nothing wrong with having money as an exchange of the knowledge shared - it is then purely a flow of energy - knowledge going out and money coming in - to keep a balance between giving and receiving.

Maybe you should not look at it as trying to commercialize spirituality. Just talk from your heart - or in other words be your self - that will promote the spirituality.
Spirituality should always come from the heart and in my believe that can never be dense - it is not possible. So where does your motivation come from? What is important for you - being your spiritual self or winning the competion?

Hi all
Since I started with this competition about Spiritual writers I have had interesting replies from people.
One thing that stands out is that spiritualism is not SUPPOSED to be a competition. Granted I suppose we can all agree that cooperation is better than competition. The amaising thing though as that all the spiritual authors on the site are amaisingly supportive and it sure feels a lot more cooperative than competitive.
But now when you consider that the people who set the competition up has to invest money in the authors who make it in the end and they probably don't want to back a dead horse. This also makes sense.
Where do you stand on this? Money VS spiritual.
