Title: Hari nama keerthanam
Post by: Deveswar on June 24, 2009, 06:48:42 am
(Ekanda yogikalil aakamksha kondu para,
Mekanda vazhi pokuuni then manavum,
Kakan parannu punar annangal poya vazhi,
Pokunna pole hari narayanaya nama.)

these are excerpts from a great poet in malayalam vernacular.
i want to start my first post here in poetry, in salutation to him,
for evoking my spiritual quest :)

it can be roughly translate as following

Crows are following the swans
in a quest to find the truth,
flying and following the path
here this humble mind too is eager
flying after the sages, and those solitude.

True deves.

If we look to only find latyer that we did not have to look. Then its cool. If we dont look because we feel we do not have to look then its cool too.

The one thing to look out for is fear. If we say we "do not have to look" as a cliche often heard and remered from those who looked and discoverd that they do not have to look, then we best look out for the fear we hide from ourselves.

The fear is that hidden motivation even form ourself that makes us say "we do not have to look" and we will defend the words of the sages but they are not our words yet. Thus in reality we should look but we are afraid to look.

" Ananda chinmaya hare gopi ka ramana
Jnan enna bhavam athu thonnayaka venamiha
thonnuthakil akhilam jnan ithenna vizhi
thonnename varatha narayanaya nama"

Another of his beautiful stanza

Ever blissful, the one who dwell in consciousness
you who stole my heart,
as well as the hearts of woman

help me to get rid of my "I" am ness (get rid of my arrogance )
if the "I" ness persist, let it be the universal "I" (I am that)

(My words not weaving the right flow, to justfy this spiritual poetry)
