Life Of Nostradamus

Michel de Nostradame, born 14-12-1503, was a brilliant scholar and deemed more than a little eccentric by his peers whom had yet to witness the course of history, his visionary predictions and radical thinking.

A Jew by 'birth' he converted to Christianity and became a Physician of medicine training at the Montpellier University France. At the time Alchemy and Magic were as important to Medicine if not more so than the 'art' of science and learning.

His cryptic prophecies (so written as to avoid heresy accusations), were said to have been created by concentrating his vision and mind, toward and into, a bowl of water, which allowed his 'second sight' to come to the fore. This method supplemented his almost uncanny, spontaneous 'run of the mill' daily predictions, which, usually, came to truth.

He once predicted to a monk (amongst a group of monks in Ancona Italy, that Nostradamus had stood aside, to let by on the roadside), would become Pope. He knelt before the startled friar and declared that he was kneeling before, 'His Holiness'. Indeed, the monk, Felix Peretti, eventually rose to become Pope Sixtus IV. A shot in the dark? Or something more? Well the list of his predictions have mostly come true, it really depends upon your own interpretation of his writings.

Some Of the Nostrodamus Millennium Predictions.
The Interpretations are, as always, debatable.
Make your own judgements.

Sooner or later you will see great changes made
Extreme horrors and vengeance
As Islam is thus led by itís angel
The heavens draw near to the balance.

A war or conflict between East and West.
Islam's angel could mean a guiding character,
also suggesting conflict arising from the skies.
Balance could mean the democratic nations.

Forty-five degrees the sky will burn.
Fire engulfs the great new city.
Immediately, huge, scattered flames will shoot heavenward
When they wish to see the Normans proven.

Again this seems to suggest some sort of attack,
but on a city which lies between the 40 and 45 parallels.
As does New York. Or it could indeed refer to the 'city'
of an enclosed building.
'Normans' could refer to rescue workers, that are helmeted.

The thing that is really spooky and annoy about Nostradamus, is the fact that he is always so near to the truth of events that have happened, and that he is one depressing individual. Couldn't he find any good, happy predictions?

Mabus (The Evil one)

Long awaited, he will never return in Europe,
But he shall appear in Asia.
One of the League issues from the great Hermes.
He will grow in power above all the other powers in the Orient.

The concept of three - Anti-Christ - characters manifesting themselves within Nostrodamus history predictions is well known. Napoleon, Hitler we appear to have been visited by the first two, but who is the third?... Could it be, or have been, the characters of Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Colonel Gaddafi, Osama Bin Laden, or someone yet to come?
It really depends upon your own point of view. However, all roads seem to lead to the East and Asia within the Prophet's thinking, and the similarity of the state of the world today, some might conclude, would seem to agree with that thought.
In a hundred years time, histories own book, will look backwards and may be making that judgement, based on the actions of those, that are intent on conflict, within their own, very small lifetimes.

Here is the original French text:

Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra,
De gens & bestes une horrible defaite:
Puis tout a coup la vengeance on verra,
Cent, main, soif, faim, quand courra la comete.

Erika Cheetham, the author of The Final Prophecies of Nostradamus,
translated literally the above prophecy as follows:

Mabus will soon die and there will happen a dreadful destruction of people
and animals.  Suddenly, vengeance will appear, a hundred hands, thirst and
hunger, when the comet passes.

Nostradamus hid the name of the person in the prophecy in an anagram as
"Mabus".  If we transpose "us" to the beginning of the name, we come out
with "usmab".  It is like "usma b".  The name Osama is also spelled as
"Usama".  The "b" may be the abbreviation for "bin", meaning "son of".
Laden is the name of his father.  So, Mabus refers to the son and not
his father.  Is Mabus Osama bin Laden?

If Mabus refers to Osama bin Laden, it seems that he will soon die.  How?
Most likely, by a violent death.  He is declared as Public Enemy No. 1 by
the US and is being hunted extensively.  The US and its allies may be able
to get its quarry causing the death of Osama.  His followers will avenge his
death causing "a dreadful destruction of people and animals."  Both people
and animals will die.  Why will animals die also?  Because most likely,
chemical and/or biological weapons would be used.  Even nuclear weapons
might be used.  The killing seems to be indiscriminate that so many would
die including animals.

The revenge attacks may just be carried out or masterminded by a hundred
people and yet the destruction is "dreadful."

When will this prophecy of the 16th century astrologer-physician happen?  He
gave signs, such as "thirst and hunger, when the comet passes."  "Thirst and
hunger" may indicate that there would be famine when this prophecy happens.

Currently, there is a catastrophic drought and famine in Afghanistan.  This
is one of the reasons why Afghan refugees in the millions are fleeing the

Nostradamus mentioned a comet passing during this time.  He may be referring
to the famous Halley's Comet, which passed in 1986.   Considering that the
prophecy was made 450 years ago, being off by 15 years is not that far away.

I hope that those who think of avenging the death of Mabus would think
twice.  Remember that if God would like to annihilate us, He could just send
a plague like the Spanish Flu of 1918 which killed about 20 million
people--as many as those killed during World War I.  The Spanish flu came
and went very quickly.  It just harvested a few million people.

So do we have to kill one another?  We don't have to because God can do that
if He wants to.  Since God created all of us, we are all brothers and
sisters.  God is like a Father to us who gave life to all of us.  Like a
human father, will God like that His children fight one another?  More so,
kill one another?  He wants that we love one another.  So, let us learn to
live in peace and harmony and love one another.  Let us avoid war, which just
causes hatred and killing.

God's peace reign in our hearts now and forever.

He predicts.......

Iran will gain support from it's middle eastern neighbours and Russia will side also. The Pope will be assassinated and riots will ensue. An attack will be launched on Europe totally destroying Italy and southern france. Both these counties including Spain will be invaded by the middle eastern armies and World War III will begin.
All of this supposedly 1 year after the democrats succeed the Republicans in the White House.

Now what with the growing conflict between Iran and the US, Russia's objection to the US European based anti missile project along with the growing popularity of the democrats and the dwindling popularity of Bush and the Republicans, earily and worryingly all seems to be falling into place!

Nostradamus has been credited with predicting numerous events in world history, from the Great Fire of London,  the rise of Napoleon I of France, the French Revolution and Adolf Hitler, to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

translated from the previously unreleased manuscript will certainly "ruffle a few feathers".

page 243
The great empire will be torn from limb,
The all-powerful one for more than four hundred years:
Great power given to the dark one from slaves come,
The Aryana will not be satisfied thereby.
